Job summary

Pacific Scientific Energetic Materials Company is seeking a Packaging Engineer II to partner with Shipping as the internal customer to improve packaging processes with a focus on safety, quality, productivity, efficiency, cost control, and regulatory compliance.

You will create packaging specs, instructions, drawings, BOMs, and documentation, and drive standard work, qualification tests, and continuous improvement across Engineering, Quality, Procurement, and Manufacturing.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical/Industrial/Manufacturing Eng or related.
• 3+ years in a technical/manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Strong written and verbal communication; cross-functional collaboration.
• Experience implementing standard work and process controls.
• Regulated industry experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review contracts and shipping flowdowns to ensure packaging compliance.
• Select packaging materials meeting specific needs and create specs.
• Create documentation: specs, drawings, BOMs, checklists.
• Drive discrepancies resolution with cross-functional teams.
• Develop tooling, fixturing, and equipment documentation.
• Coordinate packaging qualification tests and tracking.
• Lead continuous improvement events to boost packaging efficiency.
• Support Purchasing to secure adequate packaging materials.
• Perform root cause analysis and corrective actions in packaging.
• Represent Shipping in Sales Order Kickoffs and training.
