Job summary

KanPak LLC, a Golden State Foods company, is seeking a Packaging Engineer II to develop, optimize, and improve packaging systems in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. You will lead packaging initiatives to ensure safe, cost-effective, and visually appealing packaging that meets quality and customer service standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in packaging engineering from an accredited college or university.
• 3 to 6 years of relevant work experience.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Experience in interacting with customers is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide recommendations on new and modified packaging options, including cost analyses and implementation planning.
• Lead prototype system development and packaging design efforts to prevent damage or contamination.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with customers to identify packaging requirements that align with standards.
• Conduct packaging audits and trials, setting specifications for materials and pallet configurations.
• Support commercialization of new items with project teams.
• Assist in label creation processes and maintain approved artwork library.
• Create and maintain packaging specifications, drawings, and bills of materials.
• Support benchmarking of industry packaging capabilities to drive improvements.
• Travel up to 25% as needed.
