Job summary

Steelcase is seeking a Summer/Fall 2027 Packaging Engineering Co-op for a 6-month placement in Grand Rapids." June to December". You will learn from seasoned packaging professionals and network with peers globally while addressing real challenges in corporate and plant settings.

You will contribute to packaging design, material analysis, cost-saving projects, and BOM changes, gaining transferable skills for your career in manufacturing and packaging.

Qualifications

• Completed materials and basic testing courses.
• You must own or have daily access to a car and have a valid U.S. driver’s license.
• Leadership experience inside and/or outside the classroom.
• Packaging or Applied Engineering Sciences with a Packaging concentration is required or pursued.

Responsibilities

• Prepare furniture for ship testing and work with the test lab to review results.
• Assist in issues that arise to help run the business.
• Connect with suppliers and obtain packaging samples in manufacturing plants.
• Contribute to packaging design projects.
• Work on cost savings projects and quality investigations.
• Analyze packaging materials and perform comparisons.
• Assist with department spreadsheets to report progress and savings.
