The Packaging Engineer will lead end-to-end packaging solutions, partnering with manufacturing, logistics, and engineering teams to protect products, improve efficiency, and reduce total delivered cost across domestic and global networks. You will evaluate materials, automation technologies, and transportation methods while driving safety, quality, and sustainability initiatives in a highly

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a technical field with emphasis on packaging
Experience in packaging engineering, manufacturing engineering, or logistics engineering preferred
Knowledge of packaging solutions for automated systems
Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and DFMA

Responsibilities

Collaborate with on-site teams to align packaging solutions with future needs for a startup facility
Design and develop packaging solutions for products, service parts, and manufacturing components
Lead packaging optimization projects focused on safety, quality, delivery performance, sustainability, and cost reduction
Partner with engineering, logistics, manufacturing, and supply chain teams on packaging strategy and implementation
Work with suppliers to establish packaging requirements and specifications
Determine optimal packaging methods for domestic and global distribution networks
Develop and maintain packaging standards, specifications, and engineering documentation
Research emerging packaging materials and automation technologies
Integrate automation into packaging design to align with AMRs, AGVs, AS/RS, and automated environments
Establish packaging performance metrics and reporting mechanisms
Support new product introductions through packaging design, validation, and launch
Drive continuous improvement to packaging utilization, freight efficiency, and inventory flow
Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and customer requirements
Lead packaging validation and testing activities including transit testing and environmental simulation
Provide input on returnable container tracking systems for end-to-end visibility
