Job summary
Caterpillar Inc. in Sanford, NC seeks a Logistics Engineer to design and improve material flow, warehousing, line-side delivery, and replenishment for launch readiness and long‑term performance at a new advanced manufacturing campus.
You will collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, operations, maintenance, and digital teams to remove barriers, apply lean logistics, integrate ERP and shop-floor systems, and optimize throughput, availability, and delivery performance.
Qualifications
- Experience designing manufacturing logistics or material-flow processes.
- Experience with logistics automation and material-handling technologies.
- Practical experience with lean manufacturing, data analysis, and flow optimization.
Responsibilities
- Design end-to-end material-flow processes for receiving, warehousing, kitting, line-side delivery, and outbound movement.
- Develop functional requirements, equipment specifications, and capacity models for automated logistics systems.
- Lead testing, commissioning, go-live, ramp-up, and handoff to operations and maintenance.
- Communicate recommendations and project status to stakeholders.
