Job summary

United Legwear & Apparel Co. in New York City is seeking a Packaging Designer to create innovative packaging for legwear, bodywear, bags, and accessories, ensuring alignment with brand identity, regulatory standards, and production requirements.

This role blends creative concept work with technical packaging development in a fast-paced environment. You will design bellybands, hangtags, boxes and more, develop concept boards for internal teams and external partners, and prepare production-ready

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in design or related area and 2+ years of relevant experience in the apparel design industries.
• Proficient in MAC OS and Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop.
• High creativity and artistic abilities with keen attention to detail and ability to visualize in three dimensions.
• Proficient with Adobe Suite programs and Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).

Responsibilities

• Create and design packaging for a variety of brands and product categories; bellybands, hangtags, boxes, and more.
• Ensure packaging for each program reflects the design direction, brand’s identity, and customer/distribution requirements.
• Create conceptual design boards and appealing presentations for internal teams (design, sales) and external partners (brands, customers).
• Digital and physical packaging submissions to the license and/or customer for approvals.
• Packaging development with multiple factories; detailed layout review, cost and lead time comparison, and sample execution to establish approved color and quality standards.
• Prepare artwork, dielines, mockups, technical files, and production-ready assets for manufacturing.
• Work with suppliers and vendors to ensure that packaging is produced to specification and within the required timelines.
• Ensure packaging meets both aesthetic and functional standards before mass production.
• Perform any other duties as assigned in support of the company needs and operations.
