Job summary

Taghleef Industries, Inc. seeks a Technical Engineer to maintain packaging designs and specifications for NA products and ensure supplier quality across the supply chain. The role collaborates with procurement, manufacturing, logistics, sales and customers to uphold compliance and drive improvements.

The candidate will lead packaging trials, audits, and corrective actions, coordinating with global plants and external providers. Travel up to 20% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, packaging, operations, or supply chain management
• Associates degree acceptable with 5 years’ experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Capability to work independently and drive continuous improvements
• Experience in Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCad, Excel and Access
• Additional Industry Certifications are Beneficial
• Some travel may be required, up to 20%

Responsibilities

• Design, test, record and implement all packaging put-up requirements for North American products
• Work closely with procurement on sourcing of economical materials for pallet/put-up construction
• Work with plants and external providers to ensure proper implementation and integrity of packaging designs, including training
• Work with all internal and external audit teams to ensure high standards of compliance for quality, food safety, safety, environmental, sustainability, customer, and certification audits
• Work with sales and customer service to meet customer packaging design/trial needs on time and in budget
• Maintain database for packaging supplier and carrier corrective actions and preventive measures, including imported product
• Oversee packaging material inventory levels and finished goods inventory quality
• Maintain SAP/OV COSRs where packaging wrap codes and references are involved
• Drives improvements in packaging design to improve quality, reduce damage claims, and cost savings
• Stays current within packaging industry – looks for new packaging trends, ideas and enhancement opportunities, including equipment
• Performs other related duties as required and assigned by the Purchasing Manager
• Assists Purchasing Manager with specifications needed for price negotiations
• Surveys and audits critical packaging suppliers in consultation with Purchasing Manager
