Job summary

Taghleef Industries, Inc. is seeking a Technical Engineer in Rosedale, IN to maintain packaging designs and specifications for finished products and work-in-progress in North America, while overseeing supplier quality and the storage and shipping of finished goods to meet customer requirements.

The role requires coordinating with procurement, plants, logistics, and customers, leading supplier trials and audits, driving continuous improvements, and ensuring compliance across quality, food safety,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, packaging, operations, or supply chain management is required.
• Associates degree acceptable with 5 years’ experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Ability to work independently and drive continuous improvements is expected.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, Excel and Access is preferred.
• Industry certifications are beneficial.
• Some travel may be required, up to 20%.

Responsibilities

• Design, test, record, and implement all packaging put-up requirements for North American products.
• Collaborate with procurement on sourcing economical materials for pallet/put-up construction.
• Coordinate with plants and external providers to ensure proper implementation and training of packaging designs.
• Support internal and external audits to ensure high standards of compliance for quality, safety, environmental, sustainability, customer, and certification audits.
• Work with sales and customer service to meet packaging design/trial needs on time and budget.
• Maintain database for packaging supplier and carrier corrective actions and preventive measures, including imported product.
• Oversee packaging material inventory levels and finished goods inventory quality.
• Maintain SAP/OV COSRs where packaging wrap codes and references are involved.
• Drive improvements in packaging design to improve quality, reduce damage claims, and costs.
• Stay current with packaging trends and enhancement opportunities, including equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Purchasing Manager.
