Job summary

PCI Pharma Services is seeking a Package Designer II in Illinois to develop and launch new packaging designs, coordinating with customers and vendors while driving prototyping in the Design Lab. This role supports billable design services and involves interaction with internal stakeholders.

You will oversee CAD-driven packaging concepts, create renderings, and ensure designs meet requirements and quality standards. The position values teamwork and design excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 2+ years related industry experience.
• Advanced training in CAD design software (SolidWorks & Artios-CAD) and graphic design tools (Adobe Creative Suite).
• Experience in advanced drug-delivery device packaging and child-resistant/adult-friendly designs.
• Familiar with thermoforming design/manufacturing technologies and materials.
• Experience with folding carton and wallet card packaging.
• Strong project management, communication, and reporting skills.
• Knowledge of flexible packaging and materials is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Designs and assembles primary, secondary and tertiary packaging formats that meet customer requirements.
• Creates sketches, 3D renderings and visual presentations of packaging concepts.
• Communicates ideas and improvements to customers and internal teams through digital presentations.
• Creates and modifies packaging drawings and layouts using CAD platforms.
• Reviews structural elements to meet customer requests and PCI requirements.
• Participates in technical reviews and onboarding plans.
• Performs prototyping in on-site lab and manages supplies.
• Supports billable Design Services: Design Consultation, Conceptualization, Package Development, Sample Preparation and Testing.
• Mentors Jr. Designers and interns; supports ESG initiatives and internal marketing activities.
