Job summary

Lonza in Tampa, FL is hiring a Department Lead in Packaging to drive safe, compliant packaging operations and support a high‑impact manufacturing environment. You will lead operators, coordinate cross‑functional teams (Manufacturing, QA, Warehouse, Facilities), and oversee cleaning of packaging rooms, ensuring efficient throughput and quality.

The role emphasizes strong cGMP documentation, problem solving, and continuous improvement aligned with SQDC goals, including night shifts and equipment

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in manufacturing, packaging, or GMP‑regulated environment.
• Strong understanding of cGMP requirements and documentation practices.
• Ability to lead others, troubleshoot equipment, and support cross‑functional operations.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Detail‑oriented, organized, and able to work effectively on a 12hr night shift schedule.
• Experience with automated packaging equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead Packaging operations, ensuring batch record execution and documentation meets cGMP standards.
• Support Manufacturing, QA, Warehouse, and Facilities teams to ensure alignment with FDA and company requirements.
• Oversee and coordinate cleaning and sanitization of primary and secondary packaging rooms and equipment.
• Assign and direct staff to production rooms to ensure smooth operations and address packaging‑related blocking issues.
• Assist with troubleshooting equipment and help set up automated machinery for packaging processes.
• Reconcile and move materials between packaging areas and the warehouse.
• Train Operators and support continuous improvement initiatives aligned with SQDC goals.
