Job summary

The Boston Beer Company is seeking a motivated Co-op to join our Packaging Operations team in Breinigsville, PA. You will gain hands-on experience in manufacturing operations, data analysis, process optimization, and capital project planning on a 6-month program, onsite five days a week.

You will analyze packaging line performance, identify improvements, and collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and Finance to drive productivity and cost savings.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline.
• Must continue to be enrolled in classes upon the completion of the co-op.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to interpret data and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Interest in manufacturing operations, process improvement, and engineering.

Responsibilities

• Trend operational data and losses across multiple IT systems to identify inefficiencies and develop problem statements.
• Analyze packaging line performance and support root cause identification for operational losses.
• Monitor key manufacturing metrics and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and performance.
• Develop and execute improvement plans focused on increasing efficiency and reducing costs during the co-op term.
• Partner with Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering teams to support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to the development of near-term and long-term improvement plans for packaging lines.
• Build business cases for future small-purchase capital projects.
• Evaluate potential projects by analyzing operational impact, costs, and expected savings.
• Assist with project documentation, presentations, and implementation planning.
