Job summary

WD-40 Company is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Category Manager for Packaging to own plastics, cans, Smart Straw, and corrugate categories in the Americas. Based in US Remote or San Diego, you will build the business case, bring data, and negotiate with suppliers to drive value.

You will partner with QA, R&D, and marketing, lead cost models, and travel up to 30% to engage suppliers and contract manufacturers in the US, Mexico, and Brazil.

Qualifications

• 3-7 years in strategic sourcing for direct materials (packaging, components, or raw materials).
• Contract manufacturing experience with client or supplier side.
• Hands-on experience with plastics: resin, bottles, injection or blow molding.
• Track record of managing supplier pricing with data: pushing back on increases, negotiating reductions, and winning.
• Strong Excel skills and the patience to work through detailed cost data.
• Critical thinking and curiosity: challenge assumptions and dig into numbers.
• Collaborative mindset across functions to build relationships.

Responsibilities

• Own supplier price management, end to end, and negotiate with suppliers.
• Stakeholder management with QA, R&D, and marketing to align on projects.
• Support can sourcing as a major savings lever, including Latin America.
• Maintain speed in corrugate spend with evolving promos and cost requests.
• Build cost models, price lists, and conduct variance reviews.
• Assist with molding solutions for bottle conversions.
• Travel up to 30% to suppliers and contract manufacturers in the US, Mexico, and Brazil.
