Job summary

Pratt Industries in Florida seeks a Shop Technician to assemble, maintain, test, and prepare automated packaging machinery for deployment. You will support field service by ensuring systems are configured, inspected, and ready for installation.

This role requires mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and PLC knowledge, plus the ability to work safely in a busy shop, follow procedures, and document work and parts usage. CMMS experience is a plus.

Qualifications

Experience in packaging automation, industrial maintenance, or military maintenance, or graduation from a technical college with a degree in Mechatronics or Industrial Maintenance.
Strong mechanical, technical, and electrical aptitude.
Familiarity with PLC-controlled machinery and industrial sensors at a troubleshooting level.
Professional organizational and communication skills with a customer-first mindset.

Responsibilities

Assemble, install, and configure automated packaging machinery, subassemblies, and components per drawings/specs.
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, PLC, motor, and control issues in the shop.
Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and functional testing before deployment.
Support equipment rebuilds, refurbishments, retrofits, and upgrade projects.
Prepare machines for shipment and field installation, ensuring quality and readiness.
