Job summary

Mentor Technical Group seeks an Automation Engineer to provide on-site support for the packaging line, resolving OT and IT incidents escalated via the client’s Call Log system (ServiceNow). The role requires troubleshooting PLCs, HMIs, and vision systems across US and European platforms, with rotating shifts including overnights.

The candidate will collect data for RCA, create documentation, and ensure rapid responses and high data quality while complying with SLOs.

Qualifications

Proven experience as an Automation Engineer on OEM packaging equipment.
Troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs and vision systems.
Experience with US/EU control platforms: Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider Electric, ABB, Beckhoff, B&R.
Willing to work rotating shifts, including night/early hours.
Work within a structured Call Log/ServiceNow environment.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and resolve on-site incidents escalated through Call Log (Level 1 support).
Collect data and provide technical support for RCA.
Create and update technical documentation and Knowledge Base articles.
Document all Level 1 troubleshooting before escalating to Level 2 or On-Call Engineer.
Meet SLOs, including a response time of <15 minutes and call-closure data quality >90%.
