THE ROLEAvocado is currently looking for a Packaging Associate to be part of the Packaging Team. You will be reporting to the Production Assistant Manager.A Packaging Associate in Mattress Manufacturing is responsible for preparing, wrapping, compressing, and packaging finished mattresses for safe storage and shipment. Given the bulky and heavy nature of mattresses, this role requires physical strength, attention to detail, and familiarity with specialized packaging equipment.*Note on Location: Here at Avocado Green Brands, we treasure teamwork and working together in person. Depending on the role, you will be working on-site at one of our Fullerton locations / Retail location / Remote.*Note on Pay Transparency:. The pay range for this role is $17.00 - $19.63 Hourly.WHAT YOU’LL BE WORKING ONMattress Packaging & Wrapping- Wrap finished mattresses in **plastic poly film or non-woven fabric** for protection- Apply **corner guards, edge protectors, and foam padding** to prevent damage during transit- Roll or fold mattresses using **compression/roll-pack machines** (for bed-in-a-box products)- Vacuum-seal and compress mattresses to reduce volume for shipping- Insert compressed mattresses into **cardboard tubes or boxes**- Package flat-packed or standard mattresses with appropriate covers and bagsLabeling & Tagging- Attach **law tags** (regulatory requirement on all mattresses)- Apply **barcodes, model labels, firmness/size tags**, and brand labels- Ensure correct SKU, batch number, and production date are recorded- Label boxes with destination, weight, and handling instructionsEquipment Operation- Operate **roll-pack/compression machines** for bed-in-a-box packaging- Use **heat sealers and shrink wrap machines**- Operate **banding/strapping machines** to secure packaged mattresses- Use **conveyor systems, pallet jacks, and forklifts** (if certified)- Perform basic **equipment checks and minor adjustments*Housekeeping & Safety- Maintain a **clean and organized** packaging area- Dispose of plastic waste, cardboard scraps, and off-cuts properly- Follow **GMP, OSHA, and company safety standards**- Wear required PPE: **gloves, steel-toe boots, back support belt**- Practice safe **manual handling and lifting techniques**WHAT YOU BRINGAbility to effectively communicate internally and externally.Regular and predictable attendance.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSAbility to **lift and maneuver mattresses** (50–100+ lbs) with team assistanceStanding, bending, and reaching for **8–12 hour shifts**Working in a **fast-paced production environment**Tolerating **noise from machinery** and warm temperatures on the floorWHAT WE OFFER YOUMedical (HMO, PPO, HSA), Dental, Vision100% Employer Paid Life Insurance401(k) with employer matchPTOVolunteer daysEmployee product purchase programAnnual Bonus PlanTraining and Tools to be successful along with a strong partnership from your peers and leadersAccess to wellness appsReferral BonusCareer growth opportunitiesThank you very much for your interest in working for Avocado Green Brands.
