Job summary

FedEx is seeking a PT Trainer for Package Handlers in Arlington, TX to train new PHs in loading, unloading, palletizing, scanning, and safety procedures. The trainer will mentor peers, reinforce dock safety standards, and assist in implementing new handling procedures.

The role involves hands-on instruction, evaluating performance, and providing feedback to ensure efficient and safe operations in a fast-paced environment. Ability to drive DOT compliant, and maintain a valid license is preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to train multiple peer PHs simultaneously.
• Ability to understand and follow instruction regarding work duties and safety methods.
• Ability to discern numbers and information in order to sort packages correctly.
• Ability to use basic tools and equipment such as skate wheel rollers, dock carts, hand-held scanners, chutes and unloading devices.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment.
• PHs operating switching equipment must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a Department of Transportation (DOT) file.

Responsibilities

• Trains new PHs on unloading, loading, palletizing, carrying, smalls handling, SWAK, and non-conveyable package handling techniques.
• Provides training to other PHs requiring additional instruction on unloading, carrying, loading, palletizing, smalls handling, SWAK, or non-conveyable package handling techniques.
• Provides feedback on proper package handling techniques, as needed.
• Reinforces dock safety standards among peer PHs.
• Understands and demonstrates all necessary processes and procedures.
• Updates managers on conditions during the sort to aid efficiency decisions.
• Assists in implementing new package handling procedures and techniques.
• Regularly loads/unloads, palletizes, lifts, carries, pushes and pulls packages while training other PHs.
