Position Summary

The Cardiac Device Technician will assist Nurse Practitioners and Physicians in the management of all patients with implanted cardiac devices requiring cardiac device therapy. The role is responsible for establishing and maintaining a remote monitoring program that includes scheduling, billing, downloading, and analysis of clinical device transmissions. Typical duties include clinical interrogation of pacemakers and Implantable Cardiac Defibrillator (ICD) devices; review of patient algorithms; and other clinical interrogation data and preparation of preliminary reports for physicians.

Job Responsibilities

• Scheduling clinic and remote appointments.
• Sending follow‑up letters to patients regarding past appointments.
• Monitoring the status of all device patients within the practice and with the manufacturer.
• Setting up Holter monitors and preparing reports.
• Interrogating and programming pacemakers and ICD devices under the direct supervision of physicians and nurse practitioners.
• Downloading and analyzing transmissions.
• Monitoring websites for remote transmissions and urgent alerts.
• Registering patients on vendor websites for remote monitoring systems.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited EKG school or a Cardiac Arrhythmia Technology Program, or equivalent training/experience in interpreting cardiac arrhythmias.

Preferred Qualifications

Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician (CRAT) from CCI and a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.

Salary Information

Salary range for this role: $70,481.60 – $70,481.61 annually. Actual salaries depend on experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The range does not include bonuses, differential pay, or other forms of compensation.
