Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Physician Assistant for CV/CT Surgery - Inpatient Only. This licensed PA will provide direct patient care under physician supervision in adult and pediatric cardiovascular and cardiothoracic surgery settings outside the OR, with 10-hour shifts and a 4-day work week plus rotating weekends.

Responsibilities include physical exams, ordering and interpreting tests, prescribing therapies, and coordinating care with the surgical team.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited PA program.
• Current Texas PA license to practice.
• Current NCCPA certification.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire or transfer.

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive or problem-focused physical examinations and medical histories.
• Orders and interprets labs and diagnostics to assess care needs.
• Prescribes medications and therapies per policy and physician supervision.
• Develops outcomes-based treatment plans with the care team.
• Counsels patients and families on medical processes and medications.
• Maintains complete patient records and follows up pre- and post-operatively.
