Job summary

PPG is hiring a Material Handler in Georgia to support warehouse operations, including receiving, storing and distributing materials and equipment. Shift is first shift, Monday–Friday, with willingness to train from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in transition.

Starting pay is $22.12 per hour. Candidates must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and have warehouse or manufacturing experience. Eligible candidates may train on first shift while Delta Airport access is pending.

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds consistently.
• Experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work will be in warehouse doing receiving, storing, and distributing material, tools, equipment, and products.
• Loads and unloads product to and from delivery vehicles and storage areas.
• Reads schedules and orders to determine items to move, gather, or distribute.
• Conveys materials from receiving or production areas to storage or other areas.
• Sorts items on racks or bins by size, type, color, or product code.
• Operates forklift to move, stack, load or unload materials and goods.
• May load/unload trucks and use a Hi-Rise for loading.

Primary Responsibilities

• Work will be in warehouse doing functions such as: receiving, storing, and distributing material, tools, equipment, and products within establishments.
• Loads and unloads product to and from delivery vehicles and designated storage areas.
• Reads production schedule, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
• Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or other designated areas.
• Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to a predetermined sequence, such as: size, type, style, color, or product code.
• Operates gas or electric powered forklift truck to move, stack, load or unload materials, parts, finished goods, etc.
• May load/unload trucks; may use a Hi-Rise to load items in storage racks.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a consistent basis throughout the day.
• Experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment is preferred.
