Job summary

Copper State Bolt & Nut Co. is seeking a skilled Manual Mill Machinist to join our precision manufacturing team. This hands-on role requires setting up and operating manual milling machines to produce components to blueprints and tight tolerances.

The ideal candidate brings 2+ years of manual milling experience, proficiency with blueprint reading, and familiarity with micrometers, calipers, and gauges. We value accuracy, safety, and teamwork in a busy shop environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of manual milling experience preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and engineering drawings.
• Experience using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
• Working knowledge of machining principles, tooling, feeds, speeds, and cutting techniques.
• Ability to perform basic shop mathematics.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
• CNC experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual milling machines to produce parts to specified dimensions and tolerances.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, work orders, and machining specifications.
• Select and install appropriate cutting tools, cutters, fixtures, and work-holding equipment.
• Perform milling operations including drilling, boring, slotting, facing, and related machining processes.
• Measure and inspect completed parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring instruments.
• Verify dimensional accuracy and ensure parts meet required specifications and tolerances.
• Adjust machine settings, tooling, and feeds and speeds as needed to maintain quality and accuracy.
• Identify machining or quality issues and communicate concerns to supervisors or team members.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and keep the work area clean, organized, and safe.
• Follow all established safety procedures and company policies.
• Work independently while maintaining production schedules and quality standards.
• Perform other machining and manufacturing duties as assigned.

Manual Mill Machinist – Precision Manufacturing

Copper State Bolt & Nut Co. is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Manual Mill Machinist to join our manufacturing team. This is a hands-on machining position responsible for setting up and operating manual milling machines to produce precision components according to blueprints, specifications, and required tolerances.

The ideal candidate has experience with manual milling, blueprint reading, precision measuring instruments, tooling, and machining processes and takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality work.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and work at a machine for extended periods.
• Ability to bend, reach, walk, and perform repetitive movements throughout the workday.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to safely operate machinery, hand tools, and precision measuring equipment.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machine noise, metal shavings, and machining lubricants.
