Job summary

Copper State Bolt & Nut Co. in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a CNC Operator to set up and run CNC machines producing high quality fasteners. You will operate equipment, follow safety procedures, and meet productivity, quality and housekeeping targets.

Copper State Bolt & Nut Company is seeking a CNC Operator to join our team. You will be responsible for set up and operation of computer numerical control (CNC) machine and auxiliary equipment to produce high quality fasteners while meeting on-time delivery, productivity, safety, quality, and housekeeping metrics.

Responsibilities

Responsible for set up and operation of computer numerical control (CNC) machine and auxiliary equipment to produce high quality fasteners while meeting on-time delivery, productivity, safety, quality, and housekeeping metrics.

• Perform daily maintenance and adjustments on CNC machine and auxiliary equipment as needed.
• Synchronize CNC machine actions for various operations on each customized job.
• Configure equipment and calibrate gauge settings; load materials onto equipment.
• Perform routine checks to ensure safety devices are on and in working order (guarding and all safety equipment).
• Use proper Lock Out Tag Out procedures.
• Prepare and maintain accurate records.
• Clean equipment and keep work area neat and orderly.
• Participate as a Trainer when necessary.
• Work in any other area of the plant at the request of your supervisor and/or manager.

Safety

• Ensure that all activities are performed in a safe manner using applicable safety equipment.
• Regularly review the equipment or machinery in use to ensure that safety mechanisms or other safety features are working properly.
• Report safety hazards to supervisors or other managers immediately.

Decision/Information Sharing and Communication

• Must take initiative and be available to work where needed
• Must be able to comprehend and follow visual, written, and oral instructions
• Must communicate and work well with all other employees in the facility

Physical requirements

• This position typically requires that the employee lift heavy boxes, products, or other items, up to or more than 50 lbs.
• This position will require that the employee stand for virtually their entire shift (8 or more hours) in a noisy environment.
