Job summary

Eastman Chemical Company in Kingsport, TN, seeks an engineering design professional to develop and update P&IDs, drawings, and specifications under supervision. You will collaborate with engineers, designers and international teams to ensure safety, quality and schedule alignment.

Responsibilities include drafting in MicroStation and AutoCAD, translating PFDs to P&IDs, and helping maintain corporate design standards. Travel up to 10% may be required, with strong communication across locations.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree (or equivalent) in a related discipline with 2+ years of relevant experience; 7+ years may substitute for degree.
• Experience in field verifying P&IDs.
• Ability to develop and use customized settings in MicroStation and/or AutoCAD.
• Understanding of mechanical, piping, and electrical design and basic construction principles.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills; interaction with Hyderabad Engineering Center is frequent.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate multi-location teams.
• Willingness to travel 10% or less of job time.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate in a team environment with Process Engineering technicians, technologists, engineers, and team members.
• Learn and work with digital tools like ProjectWise, SEIGA, SharePoint, AIM, MicroStation, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite.
• Design, generate, and draft P&IDs in MicroStation and AutoCAD.
• Translate conceptual PFDs into P&IDs as projects progress in detail.
• Interpret redlines and communicate changes to drafting resources.
• Assist in development and maintenance of Corporate P&ID and CADD standards.
• Support Corporate P&ID classes and training.
• Generate improvement ideas and mentor others as needed.
• Support Worldwide Engineering and Construction and Process Engineering initiatives.
