Job summary

Novacore is looking for an experienced P&C Underwriter to join our organization, supporting 1 of our 20+ specialty programs. This hybrid role is based in Conshohocken, PA with potential locations in Plano, TX or Oak Brook, IL.

You will build a portfolio, lead the underwriting department, and ensure adherence to guidelines while driving strategic expansion and profitable growth across programs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years property and casualty underwriting experience.
• Experience in product development, distribution channel discussions/decisions, and territory expansion.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• P&C license not required, however highly sought after and reimbursed if obtained upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Build a portfolio aligned with budget expectations.
• Provide leadership to underwriting department via supervision and training.
• Maintain and conform to underwriting guidelines for procedures, rates and authorities.
• Contribute to strategic decisions on state/territory expansion.
• Communicate with internal/external teams on goals and initiatives to generate profitable premium.
• Protect best practices to ensure alignment and execution.
