Job summary

Protective is seeking an experienced Property & Casualty actuarial professional to join our Enterprise Risk Management team. This role will serve as a trusted risk advisor to Protective’s growing P&C businesses, including the Asset Protection Division (APD) and the Excess and Surplus (E&S) line of business.

They will provide independent actuarial and enterprise risk management perspectives on material business decisions.

Qualifications

• ACAS designation required.
• 7+ years in P&C actuarial risk management or related field.
• Direct P&C actuarial experience with understanding of underwriting, claims, reinsurance, and capital management.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Protective’s P&C businesses as the ERM advisor.
• Challen ge business assumptions, actuarial analyses, risk assessments, and management decisions.
• Provide actuarial and ERM guidance on growth, acquisitions, and strategic initiatives.
• Assess insurance risk exposures relative to risk appetite, limits, tolerances, and capital framework.
• Develop P&C risk metrics, KRIs, dashboards, and escalation procedures.
• Analyze profitability, underwriting performance, catastrophe exposure, and capital impacts.
• Conduct stress testing, scenario analysis, and capital assessments.
