Job summary

Protective is seeking an experienced P&C actuarial professional to join the Enterprise Risk Management team. This role will serve as a trusted risk advisor to Protective’s P&C businesses, including APD and E&S, providing independent actuarial and ERM perspectives on material decisions.

Ideal candidates have ACAS/FCAS designations, seven+ years in P&C, and a proven ability to translate analyses into actionable recommendations for senior leaders, capital planning, and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

• ACAS and/or FCAS designation required.
• Minimum seven years of P&C actuarial experience.
• Experience in ERM and risk governance within an insurance carrier.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary ERM partner for Protective’s P&C businesses (APD & E&S).
• Provide independent challenge of actuarial analyses, assumptions, and risk assessments.
• Develop and enhance P&C risk metrics, dashboards, limits, and escalation procedures.
• Assess risk exposures relative to risk appetite, limits, tolerances, and capital framework.
• Translate actuarial and capital analyses into clear recommendations for leaders and governance bodies.
• Support acquisitions, integrations, and corporate risk initiatives.
