Job summary

Protective Life seeks an experienced P&C actuarial professional to join our Enterprise Risk Management team as a trusted risk advisor to Protective’s P&C businesses, including APD and E&S. The role applies deep P&C knowledge, actuarial judgment, and capital management expertise to inform leadership on risk and capital implications of growth and strategic initiatives.

Dependent on credentialing and experience, the internal title will be Associate Actuary, P&C or Actuary, P&C.

Qualifications

• ACAS designation required.
• 7+ years in P&C actuarial risk management or related field.
• Direct P&C actuarial experience and knowledge of underwriting, claims, and capital management.
• Ability to translate complex analyses into actionable business insights.
• Excellent communication with leaders across functions.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the ERM partner for Protective’s P&C businesses.
• Provide independent challenge of actuarial analyses and risk assessments.
• Advise on growth, acquisitions, and strategic initiatives.
• Assess risk relative to risk appetite and capital framework.
• Develop P&C risk metrics, dashboards, and escalation processes.
• Translate analyses into clear recommendations for senior leaders.
