Job summary

American Electric Power (AEP) in Texarkana, TX seeks a P&C Electrician C to P&C Electrician A to support installation, testing and maintenance of protection and control devices. Residence within 30 miles of the Texarkana Service Center is required.

The candidate will perform calibration, diagnosis, and data retrieval for station protection systems and associated communications equipment, under supervision. Responsibilities include assisting with installation, maintenance, and operation of SCADA

Qualifications

• Requires an Associate’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology or related field.
• Willingness to obtain required certifications and meet PAT requirements.
• Ability to read electrical prints, diagrams, and instruction books related to protection, control, and measurement circuits.

Responsibilities

• Assist in acceptance and installation tests on protection, control, and measurement devices.
• Calibrate protection and control devices on a schedule.
• Diagnose trouble and assist with corrective action to repair and prevent recurrence.
• Operate test equipment and retrieve data from devices.
• Maintain test and automotive equipment in good working order.
