Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and client-focused Commercial Insurance Account Manager to join our team. In this role, you will manage a portfolio of primarily commercial insurance accounts (few personal lines), serving as the primary point of contact for clients. You will ensure exceptional service delivery by assessing client needs, coordinating policy renewals, and collaborating with underwriters and brokers to provide tailored insurance solutions. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and skilled in building strong relationships to support client retention and business growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Manage and maintain a portfolio primarily of commercial insurance accounts, ensuring timely renewals, endorsements, and policy updates.
  2. Act as a liaison between clients, insurance carriers, and internal teams to address inquiries, resolve issues, and negotiate coverage terms.
  3. Analyze clients’ risk exposures and recommend appropriate insurance products to meet their business needs.
  4. Prepare and present proposals, certificates of insurance, and other documentation with accuracy and professionalism.
  5. Monitor policy expirations and proactively contact clients to review coverage and discuss renewal options.
  6. Stay informed on industry trends, regulatory changes, and carrier updates to provide expert guidance to clients.
  7. Collaborate with sales and underwriting teams to support new business opportunities and account expansion.
  8. Maintain accurate records in agency management systems and ensure compliance with company standards and insurance regulations.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial insurance account management.
  • Active Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance license.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial insurance products, including general liability, property, auto, workers’ compensation, and umbrella policies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build trust with clients and team members.
  • Proficiency in agency management software (e.g., Applied Epic, AMS360) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Analytical mindset with keen attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
Skills:
  • Professional designations such as CIC, CRM, or ARM (a plus).
  • Proven track record of client retention and satisfaction.
