Job summary

CoorsTek, Inc. in Golden, CO is seeking an R&D Engineer I or II focused on oxide ceramics to provide engineering support and technical guidance for material, product, and process development programs.

The role involves conducting experiments, optimizing existing materials and processes, contributing to project plans, and documenting results while working with Operations and Commercial teams to advance safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Ceramic Engineering, Materials Science or related field.
At least 1 year of relevant industry experience (internships, co-ops, or similar).
Hands-on oxide ceramic materials formulation and processing experience preferred.
Strong math, statistics and engineering fundamentals.

Responsibilities

With limited direction, conduct engineering experiments on new materials, products, processes and procedures.
Participate significantly in projects to optimize and improve existing materials, products, processes and/or procedures.
Contribute to project plan development, execution and reporting activities to support CoorsTek project management activities.
Devise basic research methods and documents results and procedures.
Operate process and test equipment with an understanding of functionality based on underlying engineering principles.
Exercise responsibility for specific pieces of processing and/or analytical equipment.
Work collaboratively with the Operations and Commercial sectors of the company.
Participate in the company’s safety culture and continuous improvement efforts.
Undertake further training to improve skills.
