Job summary

CoorsTek is seeking an R&D Grinding Technician II at our Golden, CO site to prepare ceramic samples for lab testing and R&D evaluation. You will operate Blanchard and other grinders, table saws, and geological saws to create test specimens per instructions and quality standards, while maintaining safety and documentation practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 3 years related experience or Bachelor’s degree with 1 year related experience.
• Experience operating grinders, saws, or other material removal equipment is strongly preferred.
• Experience with Blanchard grinders, reciprocating surface grinders, table saws, geological saws, or similar sample preparation equipment is highly preferred.
• Experience machining, grinding, cutting, or preparing ceramic, glass, stone, carbide, refractory, or other brittle materials is preferred.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions, sample preparation requests, and dimensional requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ceramic and related material samples for laboratory testing and R&D evaluation.
• Operate grinding, cutting, and shaping equipment to produce test-ready specimens.
• Harvest samples from ceramic parts to create basic shapes or test specimens.
• Perform grinding, sectioning, and shaping to support multiple tests.
• Document sample preparation steps, equipment used, and observations.
• Identify concerns and communicate deviations to leadership or customers.
