Job summary

CoorsTek in Golden, CO is seeking an R&D Engineer I or II in oxide ceramics to support material, product, and process development programs. You will conduct experiments, devise research methods, and document results to drive improvements in oxide ceramic materials.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Ceramic Engineering, Materials Science preferred or related Engineering field.
  • A minimum of one year of relevant industry experience, including internship or co-op.
  • Hands-on oxide ceramic materials formulation and processing experience highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • With limited direction, conduct engineering experiments on new materials, products, processes and/or procedures.
  • Participate significantly in projects to optimize and improve existing materials, products, processes and/or procedures.
  • Contribute to project plan development, execution and reporting activities to support CoorsTek project management activities.
  • Devise basic research methods and documents results and procedures.
  • Operate process and test equipment with an understanding of functionality based on underlying engineering principles.
  • Exercise responsibility for specific pieces of processing and/or analytical equipment.
  • Work collaboratively with the Operations and Commercial sectors of the company.
  • Participate in the company’s safety culture and continuous improvement efforts.
