Job summary

Bisnow is seeking a Construction Manager for multifamily development and special projects in San Mateo, CA. The role is hybrid (3 days in office) with site visits, full-time employment, and a salary range of $140,000-$180,000 plus bonus potential.

You will oversee projects from due diligence through closeout, coordinating with contractors, consultants, and municipal agencies to deliver on time, within budget, and to code. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction management experience in multifamily residential development or related fields.
• Experience managing projects from preconstruction through closeout including budgeting and scheduling.
• Experience coordinating with GC/GCs, architects, engineers, utilities, and municipal agencies.
• Strong understanding of building codes, permits, inspections, and constructability.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the owner's representative for multifamily ground-up development, renovations, ADUs, unit conversions, and other special construction initiatives.
• Lead projects from due diligence through preconstruction, permitting, construction, inspection, turnover, and closeout.
• Support ground-up development through planning, design coordination, permitting, construction, and project delivery.
• Conduct site assessments to develop scopes of work and identify construction challenges.
• Lead planning activities including scope development, estimating, budgeting, scheduling, and constructability reviews.
• Manage general contractors, subcontractors, architects, engineers, consultants, vendors, and project partners.
• Coordinate permitting, inspections, approvals, and other requirements with local departments and utilities.
• Monitor budgets, schedules, forecasts, and change orders to maintain accountability.
• Coordinate RFIs, submittals, inspections, product approvals, and documentation.
• Conduct regular site visits to ensure work meets plans, specs, and safety requirements.
• Identify and mitigate project risks and communicate changes to leadership.
