Job summary

Safety Management Group, LLC is seeking a local Owner’s Rep in Richmond, VA to provide environmental services and ensure compliance across construction activities. The Environmental Advisor will coordinate environmental programs, permits, and regulatory standards within their region and project scope.

Requirements include 7 years of environmental experience and a degree in Environmental Studies, Geology, or related field.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills and initiative.

Responsibilities

• Provide environmental compliance oversight for construction activities.
• Support compliance with NPDES, RCRA, Stormwater, Air Permits, and SPCC requirements.
• Develop and manage environmental plans, permits, documentation, and records.
• Conduct site inspections and compliance assessments to identify environmental risks.
• Partner with contractors to ensure adherence to environmental regulations and permit requirements.
• Lead environmental incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Deliver environmental training, guidance, and coaching to project teams and contractors.
• Support regulatory audits, agency interactions, and project-specific environmental programs.

SMG is seeking a local Owner’s Rep in Richmond, VA to provide environmental services.

The Environmental Advisor is responsible for coordinating the implementation of environmental compliance programs, permit requirements, corporate environmental policies, standards, procedures, and strategic environmental goals within their assigned region, plant, and project scope.

Additional Information

• SMG full-time, benefitted Associates are eligible for Premium Pay after working 40 billable hours for the week. Premium pay is at a 1.35 multiplier.
• Annual pay/merit review/increase.

Overview of Job Responsibilities

• Provide environmental compliance oversight for construction activities.

• Must possess a thorough knowledge of environmental studies and regulatory compliance
• Ability to plan, organize, and problem-solve
• Have excellent written and oral communication skills and initiative
