Job summary

MAAS Companies in California seeks an Owner’s Authorized Representative II to represent the District on major public school construction projects. You will oversee preconstruction through closeout, manage budgets and schedules, review submittals, RFCs, substitutions, and change orders, and coordinate with public agencies and staff.

The role requires extensive experience in large educational facilities, with CCM or CA licensure preferred, and offers an ESOP and strong benefits as part of MAAS’s

Qualifications

• 15 years of full-time professional experience in construction or combined project/construction management for commercial/public/educational facilities, with 5 years responsible for projects >$20M and a relevant degree or CCM substitute.
• 20 years of experience with 15 years coordinating complex >$20M projects; degree and CCM preferred, not required

Responsibilities

• Oversee all phases: preconstruction, bidding, construction, and closeout for assigned projects.
• Review preconstruction documents and comment to designers.
• Provide status reports to upper management and coordinate with public agencies and staff.
• Manage budgets and schedules per District standards; monthly status reviews.
• Review RFCs, submittals, substitutions, and change orders; negotiate pricing and schedule impact.
• Ensure payments to contractors/consultants and administer professional service agreements.
• Coordinate delivery of furniture, fixtures, and equipment; achieve DSA certification and financial closeout.

Education

15 years of full-time construction/project mgmt experience with a bachelor’s degree

20 years of full-time professional experience; CCM and degree preferred
