Job summary

PMCS Group seeks an experienced Construction Manager (OAR I) in the LA area to advocate for the District from pre-construction to certification and close-out. You will drive budgets, schedules, and field decisions while coordinating with contractors and external agencies on complex public projects.

With ten years of relevant experience and a CCM or CCM-path, you’ll guide multi-year school construction programs, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance with district standards and DSA requirements.

Qualifications

• Ten years of full-time construction/CM experience in commercial or educational facilities.
• At least 3 years coordinating complex projects with values over $10M.

Responsibilities

• Manage all project phases — pre-construction, bid, construction, and close-out.
• Review pre-construction docs and provide Designer comments.
• Prepare status and progress reports for District upper management.
• Coordinate with outside agencies on off-site work and across staff.
• Manage budget and schedule to district standards, monitor monthly.
• Direct daily contractor activities, review schedules and submittals.
• Review substitutions for compliance with specs and district requirements.
• Negotiate contractor change orders for fair pricing and timelines.
• Review payments to contractors, architects, engineers, and others.
• Coordinate District FF&E delivery and close-out through DSA.
