Position Details

Location: Montgomery, IL 60538

Position Type: Full Time

Shift: 1st

Salary Range: $20.75 per hour (start); $21.25 per hour in 90 days

Position Summary

The OW Oven Operator is responsible for performing all duties of the position in an accurate, thorough, and safe manner. Employees are responsible for producing a safe and quality food product per USDA guidelines and are required to report all food safety related problems to their Supervisor/Manager and/or to the Quality Assurance department to initiate immediate action.

Key Responsibilities
  • Follow the HACCP program, including developing a working knowledge of the Critical Control Points and Critical Limits as they pertain to food safety.
  • Start, stop, and regulate the temperature of ovens.
  • Push/pull racks in and out of the smokehouses, review processing schedules, and operate smoke generators.
  • Clean related equipment, including ovens.
  • Inspect cooked product for obvious deficiencies during the cooking process.
  • Measure or weigh racks of product during and/or after cook cycles.
  • Maintain ownership of the work area to produce a safe and quality food product.
  • Report all food safety related problems to your supervisor, manager, or the quality assurance department to initiate immediate action.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to professionally communicate with cross-functional departments.
  • Sense of urgency and attention to accuracy and detail.
  • Ability to communicate both orally and in writing with people at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to manage a variety of tasks simultaneously with rapidly changing priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work productively and effectively as part of a team.
Working Conditions
  • Must be able to work in temperatures of 40 degrees or less.
  • Must be able to stand for 10 hours per day.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, and squat as needed for housekeeping responsibilities and other duties.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds.
  • Must be able to work 40 or more hours per week and overtime if necessary.
  • Must have good hand/eye coordination and be highly attentive to detail (e.g., meat type/film/date).
  • Must adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
