Position Summary
The OW Packer will coordinate workloads, provide support to ensure the team delivers, monitor issues, and ensure product is developed successfully and quality standards are met to meet customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement proper procedures for the Packaging department.
- Understand and follow GMPs, HACCP, and SQF guidelines.
- Perform de-clipping of summer product at de-clipping stations.
- Inspect summer products for defects after the de-clipping station.
- Load meat product into film pockets.
- Inspect package integrity at the inspection table.
- Pack product into boxes, following packaging counts and format.
- Palletize per pallet pattern per product.
- Review product labels.
- Load product onto cutting equipment based on product size and species.
- Label food contact containers per proper product ID.
- Cover products properly to prevent cross-contamination.
- Stage product containers, follow proper lot numbers and species.
- Load stick product by counts or weight into film pockets.
- Inspect stick packages at the inspection table.
- Package stick packages following packaging format.
- Palletize stick pallets following stick pallet pattern.
- Perform sanitation tasks as assigned; maintain packaging rooms in clean conditions.
- Stock PPE in designated areas.
- Perform product checks during production runs to ensure package integrity and quality specs are followed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
- Professionally communicate with cross-functional departments.
- Sense of urgency, attention to accuracy and detail.
- Manage multiple tasks simultaneously with rapidly changing priorities.
- Work productively and effectively as part of a team.
- Read and write in English.
Working Conditions
- Work 40 or more hours per week.
- Work in temperatures of 40 degrees or less.
- Work mandatory overtime if necessary.
- Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Stand for 10 hours per day.
- Bend, stoop, and squat as needed for housekeeping responsibilities and other miscellaneous duties.
- Work in a fast-paced environment.
- Lift up to 60 pounds.
- Good hand/eye coordination.
- Highly attentive to detail (e.g., meat type/film/date).
Pay
$18.00 per hour.
