Job summary

Clayton Connect is seeking a Pilot/Escort Driver to work with the Connect Toter team, transporting oversized loads from Clayton Manufacturing locations to retailers. Expect multi-hour driving days with several overnight trips weekly.

The role requires strong teamwork and safety awareness, with travel across multiple states. The position emphasizes safety, communication via CB radio, and adherence to state Pilot/Escort requirements.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver’s License and ability to pass Background Checks.
• Must pass company drug testing and adhere to company policies.
• Availability for overnight stays 2-3 nights each week.
• Must be able to perform the physical requirements (lift up to 50 lbs, inspections).
• Willing to operate a motor vehicle in all 48 states and read/speak English.
• Must obtain/maintain a P/EVO and Defensive Driving Certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing the home for shipment, e.g., lights, tires, securing cargo.
• Pilot/Escort the home, call out hazards, coordinate lanes for safe navigation.
• Maintain CB radio communication with Toter driver and retailers.
• Understand state Pilot/Escort requirements and comply with regulations.
• Represent Clayton while driving; vehicles are rolling billboards for the brand.
