Job summary

NSRI at the University of Nebraska is seeking a Field Team Lead to support overseas technical deployments for DoD and USG sponsors. The Field Team Lead will supervise deployment, installation, operation, sustainment, troubleshooting, and data transmission back to a US worksite.

This role requires rotational deployments of 60 days overseas followed by 30 days home, with locations across Indo-Pacific, Europe, Africa, and other strategic regions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Military Science, Project Management, Information Technology, Homeland Security, or related field.
• 10+ years supporting U.S. Government, DoD, or IC programs.
• 5+ years leading operational teams, field operations, or equivalent organizations.
• Experience coordinating with senior U.S. government officials, Embassy personnel, and external stakeholders.
• Ability to travel internationally for extended deployments.

Responsibilities

• Lead a two-person overseas deployment team including Field Team Lead and RF Field Scientist.
• Serve as NSRI’s senior in-country representative and primary contact with government and military personnel.
• Coordinate deployment activities with NSRI leadership and sponsors before, during, and after deployments.
• Plan, coordinate, and oversee deployment, installation, operation, sustainment, troubleshooting, and recovery of sensing systems.
• Deliver operational updates, executive briefings, SITREPs to military commanders and sponsors.
• Maintain accountability for mission execution, safety, equipment status, and readiness.
• Lead and coordinate the deployed RF Field Scientist to achieve technical objectives.
• Coordinate logistics including lodging, transportation, access, and sustainment.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. Government security, safety, and host nation requirements.
• Identify operational risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Maintain deployment documentation and after-action reports.
• Represent NSRI professionally with discretion and sound judgment with government stakeholders.
• Support mission planning, pre-deployment training, and post-deployment lessons learned.
