Job summary

Berry Aviation seeks a Standby Pilot in Command (PIC) for DHC-8 operations in overseas environments under FAR Part 135. You will ensure safe, compliant flight operations and adherence to FAA regulations while coordinating with on-site management.

The role requires strong CRM, risk management, and navigation skills, with international travel and 48-hour readiness. Aircraft preflight, planning, and documentation are critical responsibilities.

Qualifications

• FAA Multi Engine Airline Transport Pilot Certificate (ATPL) is required.
• Current FAA First Class Medical.
• US Passport with at least 6 months remaining.
• 1,500 PIC time.
• 500 PIC multi-engine time.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Plan flights and obtain information on weather, procedures, and instructions.
• Prepare flight plans considering altitude, terrain, weather, range and weight.
• Release flights per FAR 135 and ensure required documents are aboard.
• Verify airworthiness inspections and MEL items.
• Complete preflight check and risk assessment for each flight.
• Execute flights on schedule and managed routes/load manifests.
• Ensure CRM and briefings for crew; communicate with management on safety and maintenance.
