Job summary

Berry Aviation, Inc. seeks an Instructor/Check Pilot for the DHC-8 to run ground and flight training, administer tests, and ensure compliance with 14 CFR Part 135 and OpSpecs.

The IP/CP will coordinate with the Chief Pilot and Director of Training, maintaining PIC/IP/CP qualifications and supporting international operations. The role requires strong leadership, FAR knowledge, a valid passport, and the ability to obtain/maintain a Secret clearance or higher; preferred ATP-AMEL and type rating in

Qualifications

• Must obtain Class I Medical Certificate.
• Thorough knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs).
• Must possess a valid Passport.
• Ability to acquire and maintain, or currently hold, an active Secret Clearance or higher.
• Preferred: Airline Transport Certificate; Airplane Multi-engine Land (ATP-AMEL).
• Preferred: Type rating in the DHC-8.
• Prior experience as flight or simulator instructor/check pilot under 14 CFR 121/135/142 or equivalent military experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide ground and flight training for IP/CP candidates’ initial qualification, recurrency and requalification curricula.
• Conduct classroom instruction, flight instruction, and pilot testing in special operations/special missions.
• Deliver instruction in aircraft and non-aircraft subjects as assigned.
• Administer oral, written, and practical testing per CFRs, OpSpecs, and company standards.
• Collaborate with the Director of Training and Chief Pilot on training programs.
• Assist the Director of Training in researching and implementing new training systems and policies.
