Job summary

Berry Aviation is seeking a Standby Pilot in Command (PIC) for DHC-8 aircraft operating in overseas environments under FAR Part 135. You will ensure safe, compliant operation, adherence to company policies, and customer requirements.

The role requires planning flights, managing flight plans and documentation, and leading CRM. Occasional deployments, extensive international travel, and security clearances are anticipated.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with FAA Part 135 regulations and operating guidelines.
• Proven CRM and leadership abilities.
• Ability to operate aircraft in austere and international environments.
• Proficiency with navigation systems and flight planning software.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan flights and gather information on purpose, weather, procedures and special instructions.
• Prepare flight plans considering altitude, terrain, weather, range, weight, performance and navigation aids.
• Release flights in accordance with FAR 135 and ensure required documentation is aboard.
• Verify airworthiness inspections and MEL-based maintenance status as applicable.
• Complete preflight inspection and perform risk assessment for each flight.
• Execute each flight per company/customer instructions, maintaining schedules and load manifests.
• Brief crew on flight specifics and any changes to plans or loading.
• Maintain routine communication with on-site management regarding safety, maintenance, and customer concerns.
