Wedgwood Christian Services in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking an Overnight Youth Treatment Specialist (FT) for Baraka UC Home. The role provides nightly supervision and care for adolescent boys, supporting treatment programs, documentation, and crisis response in a residential setting.

You will work three weekdays and alternating weekends, ensuring safety and therapeutic milieu, with responsibilities ranging from bed checks to coordinating meals, activities and transportation as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Additional education and/or certification in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related field preferred.
• Prior experience supervising adolescents with emotional/behavioral disorders preferred.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Vaccinations: Varicella, MMR, DTaP, Influenza as required by federal program.
• COVID regulations: masks, PPE, quarantine protocols.
• Subscription to Wedgwood Christian Services Statement of Faith and alignment with agency goals.

Responsibilities

• Perform bed checks at least every 15 minutes within the residential program.
• Document accurate records and reports on bed checks and client behaviors.
• Create a therapeutic milieu marked by warmth, empathy and respect.
• Assist in development, implementation, and evaluation of client treatment programs and related activities.
• Monitor client behaviors and hold residents accountable using agency interventions.
• Use non-violent crisis intervention techniques as needed and complete required reports.
• Provide a stable, positive role model for residents and maintain a helping relationship.
• Oversee residents' health and wellness, meals, activities, and hygiene care; schedule appointments.
