Job summary

Elk Hill is seeking an Overnight Residential Counselor to join our team in Virginia. You will participate as a team member to create and maintain a supportive home environment for youth, focusing on attitude, values, and behavior through a community-based group home model.

Responsibilities include maintaining childcare standards, documenting shifts, providing behavior support, building relationships with youth, and coordinating activities.

Qualifications

• Six months of experience working with children with mental health diagnoses.
• Experience in a residential setting or group home preferred.
• Open to feedback and culturally aware.
• Ability to document shift coverage clearly.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high childcare standards during coverage and document each shift.
• Oversee physical care of youth and help achieve service plan goals.
• Build positive relationships with youth and serve as role model.
• Organize and lead group activities and community service projects.
• Support staff development and training.
