Virginia Home for Boys and Girls in Henrico, VA, is seeking an Overnight Group Home Youth Counselor to support up to 8 youth in a Teaching Family Home. The role involves safety checks, documentation, and providing overnight supervision while residents rest.

During the day, you will deliver teaching and guidance aligned with the Teaching-Family Model, implement care plans, and collaborate with educators, caseworkers, and families to promote healthy development.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 6 months working with children or adolescents required.
• One year of experience working with youth in a group home facility is preferred.
• Clinical experience working with youth is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Monitor residents and facility overnight while awake.
• Implement Individual Service Plans and Behavior Support Plans for each youth.
• Provide a therapeutic, family-style environment per Teaching-Family Model.
• Communicate with teachers, parents, caseworkers, and probation officers.
• Transport clients if needed.
• Document activities, behaviors, and interventions.
• Work a two-week rotating schedule.
• Support open communication within the team.

Formation
