Job summary

Little Flower Children and Family Services of New York is hiring Full-Time Youth Development Counselors for overnight shifts from Wednesday to Saturday, 11 pm to 9 am. This role involves supervising children’s activities, maintaining a clean environment, and ensuring safety and adherence to rules.

The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma or GED, experience with children, and a valid NYS driver’s license. Starting pay is $18.00/hour, commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

• Experience in handling groups of children and teens.
• Fluent in English reading, writing and speaking.
• Ability to participate in TCI training upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Supervise activities of children residing in the cottage.
• Assist in recreational group activities.
• Maintain cleanliness of the cottage.
• Prepare and supervise meals.
• Prepare incident reports as required.

Skills

Ability to gain and hold the confidence of children

Knowledge of adolescent behavior techniques

Computer skills necessary to record observations

Ability to follow laws and regulations

Education
