Job summary

Grant Gardens is hiring Overnight Night Watch Youth Counselors to provide direct care for adolescents ages 13-17 in a residential setting. You will perform safety checks, supervise nightly activities, and support residents through routine care and structured programs.

This on-site role requires staying awake during overnight shifts, documenting observations, applying trauma-informed approaches, and coordinating with the residential treatment team.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to stay awake and attentive during overnight hours.
• Dependability and ability to complete time-sensitive checks.
• Strong observation, communication, teamwork and documentation.
• Ability to obtain CPR, First Aid, AED and TCI certifications within required timeframes.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous overnight supervision according to resident levels and safety plans.
• Complete bed checks, resident counts, safety rounds, and document each check.
• Maintain a quiet, supportive environment and respond to distress or emergencies.
• Reinforce coping skills and use approved de-escalation strategies.
• Monitor sleep patterns and communicate concerns to supervisors or nursing staff.
• Implement components of treatment plans and safety precautions overnight.
• Respond to emergencies using approved procedures and TCI techniques as trained.
• Complete overnight logs and hand off needs and concerns in the morning.
