Job summary

Washington County Mental Health Services Inc. seeks an Overnight Residential Youth Counselor to supervise and support youth with emotional and behavioral challenges during evening and overnight hours.

You will help maintain a calm, home-like environment and respond to crises with de-escalation strategies and therapeutic engagement. Based in a residential treatment home, the role requires lifting up to 50 pounds, driving youth with a personal vehicle when needed, and meticulous shift

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field preferred.
• Experience with youth with emotional/behavioral challenges may count toward education.
• Ability to de-escalate and provide crisis interventions.

Responsibilities

• Provide overnight supervision in a residential home for youth with significant needs.
• Identify risk situations and use de-escalation strategies to support youth safely.
• Provide supportive counseling and therapeutic interventions during nighttime hours.
• Complete required documentation each shift, including logs and timesheets.
• Provide transportation for youth as assigned, using a personal vehicle when required.
