Job summary

Boys & Girls Aid in Hillsboro, OR is seeking a Relief Overnight Youth Care Advocate to support youth ages 12-20 in a shelter setting. You will help youth with daily needs, life skills, and education support while coordinating with DHS and local districts.

The role emphasizes trauma-informed care, teamwork, and advocacy for services through community and state programs. Employment offers opportunities for professional development and EAP access.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree along with 1 year of experience in mental health, social services, or a related field OR 2+ years of experience.
• Valid driver's license and a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Work with a team to help youth succeed in their daily lives and prepare for their futures.
• Implement our Core Ideology to ensure the best possible care for youth.
• Provide trauma informed care to vulnerable youth.
• Supervise and interact with residents ages 12-20 in a shelter setting to maintain their safety, security and well-being; assist youth in meeting individual needs and developing life skills.
• Work in conjunction with outside agencies such as The Department of Human Services and local School Districts
• Work alongside full-time staff to facilitate youth's self-identified service plans.
• Advocate for services for youth through various community, county, state, and federal programs, including educating youth in self-advocacy, eligibility, and other relevant information.
