Job summary

New Avenues for Youth in Portland, OR is seeking a Residential Advocate for the Moxie Transitional Housing program. The role involves Friday and Saturday overnights from 10:00pm to 8:00am, providing consistent guidance, resources, and advocacy to youth facing houselessness.

You will mentor youth, coordinate with service providers, and lead life-skill sessions while documenting progress to help youths achieve stable, healthy futures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Responsibilities

• Be a Mentor and Guide: Build genuine connections with youth, share relevant experiences to build confidence and trust.
• Empower Through Advocacy: Help youths navigate systems, access resources, collaborate with providers, and make informed decisions.
• Support Growth and Learning: Lead life skill groups and individual support meetings to foster connection and development.
• Document the Journey: Maintain accurate records to support program operations and outcomes.
